At DCF we have a strong belief in incorporating both healthy building products and practices. All of our sealers (whether used on a countertop or a commercial parking area) have a VOC of 19 or less. The primary sealer used on our concrete countertops and sinks is made from all natural products. Our concrete mix design includes the substitution of up to 25% of cement content with alternative products that actually increase the finished compressive strength of the concrete. We also frequently incorporate recycled glass aggregate in our concrete which further increases the "green value" of our product. Depending upon the application of the finished product, architects, designers and clients may claim LEED credits or "green points" for using our products in the following areas:

• NC Materials & Resources MR Credit 4.1 & 4.2 for recycled content. (1 or 2 points.)
  
  
• NC Materials & Resources MR Credit 5.1 & 5.2 for local sourcing. (1 or 2 points).
  
  
• Indoor Environmental Quality EQ Credit 4.1 for low VOC. (1 point).
  
  
• NC Innovation in Design ID Credit 1.1 for unique design. (1 point).
